On Saturday 9th June Tenterden Lions celebrated their Diamond Anniversary at their Charter Dinner at Chart Hills Golf Club. Members, families and guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of entertainment and an excellent meal followed by presentations and the inauguration of a new President, Mike Caridia. Their founder member, Roger Champion, who was responsible for starting the club in 1957 and is still an active member today, was presented with various awards including a special Lion from current members to mark the celebration of his 60 years in the club.
A group of Lions from the Lions Club Berck Le Touquet Cote d’Opale in France came to join in the celebrations and on the Sunday were taken for an enjoyable visit to Biddenden Vineyards ‘Best of Produced in Kent’ Open Day before returning home.
